Gabrielle Holder, LICSW & MEd.

Founder & Director

Psychotherapist/Coach

I adore learning about people. I am often described as warm, down to earth, positive, and inclusive. I believe my authentic style and heartfelt compassion are fundamental to forming positive relationships with my clients. I am engaged to understand your unique history and will ask questions that facilitate delving into the meaning of the stories you share about your life. Cooperatively, we work towards creative solutions in the face of life’s challenges. I look towards highlighting your strengths, helping you center yourself, and cultivate grace in order to help you see you can move forward, even when you may not see so yourself.

I have roots in the northeast, but have spent all of my adult life in New York City, the Bay area of California, and now Washington, DC. I have over twenty years of experience working as a psychotherapist and many more as an educator and collaborator in various professional capacities.

My experience working in elite independent schools and higher education informs my work with students who are balancing social and academic demands. In addition, my work with athletes and professionals in the midst of life transitions informs how I help to cultivate balance with people struggling to stay centered. I encourage a holistic approach in therapy that includes psychodynamic practices, mindfulness, physical exercise, proper sleep and nutrition, nurturing relationships, and activities that cultivate positivity.

As a black identified, biracial, female therapist, I feel uniquely qualified to explore issues of racism, sexism and multi-layered identities. I strive to understand the impact the environment, culture, and society has on how we experience life. I seek to foster an inclusive environment that celebrates your unique identity.

I simply love what I do.

In addition to my work in therapy, I am an avid adventurer, enjoy food and art exploration, teach yoga, am a proud mother of three, and enjoy long walks in nature with my Rhodesian Ridgeback, Zahir.

Monti Bush, LICSW

Psychotherapist

Coach

I am a native Washingtonian who is passionate about assisting individuals and couples in navigating the challenges of everyday life. I am trauma aware with training in multiple therapeutic modalities and use an eclectic approach with my clients. My foundational belief is that therapy is best practiced collaboratively by building trust with clients and creating an individualized plan of care. Much of my work has been with those who need support in addressing grief, effective communication, anxiety, depression, trauma, and gaining greater self-awareness.

Hailing from Howard University School of Social Work, I have a background in nursing and a degree in Political Science. My role as wife to a disabled Army Veteran and mother of 17-year-old twins and five-year-old mini schnauzers has also been invaluable in my pursuit of empathetic, trauma-informed, and culturally competent care.

I look forward to working with you, hearing your story, and beginning this therapeutic journey together!
